CHIANGRAI




     I was born in chiangrai, I will present my province by my blog. I have all information of chiangrai for tourists for seeks anything in chiang rai. today I show you about basic of chiangrai.

     the province is rich in tourism resources in term of natural attractions and antiquities, evidence of its past civillization. It is also home to several hilltrives who follow fascinating ways of live.

     Chiang rai is the northern most province of thailand, Chiangrai is situated on the Kok river basin 416 matres above sea level. with an area of some 11,678 square kilometres. It is about 785 kilomatres from Bankok. Mostly mountains, it reaches the MaeKhong River to the north and borders on both Myanmar and Laos.

     Chiangrai is rich in tourism resources in term of natural attractions and antiquities, evidence of its pasy civilisation. It is also home to several hilltribes who follow fascinating ways of life. Chiang rai is also a touresm gateway into Myanmar and Laos.

WAT PRATHAT DOI TUNG

WAT PRATHAT DOI TUNG

Is located at Km. 17.5 on Highway 1149. The Lord Buddha's left collarbone relics brouhgt fron madhya Pradesh, India, have been enshrined here. It was the first time that the Lankavamsa or Theravada Buddhism was founded in Lanna Thai. In the construction of the relic stupa, a one-thousand wa long Takhap flag [or Tung in local language] was planted on the hilltop, and the stupa base was designated from the area as far as the flag flied. Thus, the hilltop where the first stupa of Lanna Thai was established was named Doi Tung. Prathat Doi Tung is an impoutant sacred place. During the homage paying festival, there are Buddhist worshippers both Thais and people from neighbouring countries, such as, the people oj chiang Tung in Shan state, Myunmar, the people of Luang Prabang and Vientiane, Lao, etc.

PRATHAT PU KHAO






PRATHAT PU KHAO

     Is located in Golden Triangle, Chiangsaen. Is an ancient place on Doi Chiang Miang be the mouth of the Ruak River. It was built in 759 during the reign of Praya Laokaokaeomamueang, the second King of Wiang Hirannakhonngoenyang. The remains consist of pra Wihan [image hall] and a group of ruined brick pagodas with a trace of stucco motifs. There is a Buddha image that is used fof fortune telling. Besides, Doi Chiang Miang is also a viewpoint overlooking clear vistas of the Golden Triangle. To get there; Take the Chiangsean Sop Ruak Route and turn left shortly before reaching the Golden Triangle. Then, drive on to the hilltop. or walk up the stairs.

WAT PRATHAT CHEDI LUANG

WAT PRATHAT CHEDI LUANG

     Is located in Chiangsaen old town, was built by King Saen Phu, the third ruler of the Lanna Kingdom in early 13th century. Ancient site include the bell-shaped, Lanna-style principal Chedi which measures 88 metres height with a base 24 metres width, is the largest structure in Chiangsaen. There are also remains of ancient Viharn and Chedi.

OUB KHAM MUSEUM

OUB KHAM MESEUM

Is located at 81/1 Na Khai Road, Tambon Rob Wiang Chiangrai near Den Ha market, 1 kilomatre from the centre of town. The collection embraces objects used in the royal courts such as Lanna court, Khum Chao Phare and Khum Chao Chiangmai some parts are from northeast Myanmar, southwest China and Vietnam which are about 500-1,000 years old. Admire 120 year-old ancient fabrics, Sin Mai Kham-golden silk skirt-from the Mandalay, the golden bowl used by royals, is a masterpiece. All of  those shown the  glory of the kingdom in the past. It opens daily from 08.00 a.m.-06.00 p.m. Admission for adults 300 Baht and for children 100 Baht.
